Beijing is one of the oldest cities in Chinese history. Beijing is a very cultured city coupled with its historical sites and modern architectures that beautifully sets its own characters that everyone falls in love with. Food is rated (by a professional food lover) as good, excellent, and fantastic! Night life ranges from a bar (or a gay-bar) to these overnight playing/staying salons that you can fully relaxed in an Asian way, plus, massage is great and cheap…Anyway, there never is enough time to explore all the local activities in a short stay in Beijing.

"Eat, Train, China" - China trip 2015
By Christopher Mondello & Georgia Maldonado
It was our first time in China and Chris' first international trip. The flight was 13 1/2 hours but was it ever worth it!
We arrived in Beijing and headed straight to the hotel where we were greeted by our teachers, Frank and Tina, and fellow students. The excitement was upon us.
After fighting jet lag all night we awakened to a birthday celebration banquet for Grandmaster Liu Jing Ru! It was a fantastic experience. The friendliness and gra- ciousness of all the Chinese instructors was humbling and delightful. We are proud to be students of Frank and Tina; and to have been invited to be a part of this celebration with them. It was truly unforgettable, as was our first taste of the Beijing banquet cuisine.
The training was simply amazing. The classes covered training in Bagua, Tai Chi, and Xing Yi. We absorbed so much knowledge from Masters Liu Jing Ru, Han Yan Wu and Silver Li by virtue of their skillful teaching. We were charmed by Grandmaster Liu Jing Ru's wit and wisdom, and especially his leaping meows across the room. We were left in awe of Han Yan Wu’s power and proficiency (also his good looks) and Silver Li’s artistry and precision. We are inspired by the training and take home more knowledge to improve our forms and enhance our martial arts practice. It was an impactful part of our journey.
Every day was packed with fun and exciting activities. Travel forks in hand, we toured China. We ate delicious dumplings, tried Peking duck for the first time, visited Beijing’s stunning temples, and even got to drink Baijiu with the masters. Visiting the Great Wall was mesmerizing; though having only climbed a third of the way up (Chris chickened out) it was still amazing to just to be there.
Beijing is an incredible city. We especially enjoyed the scenic and weird Temple of Hell, the vivid Forbidden City and the artsy 798 district. All the places we visited were enriching to our lives.
After Beijing we headed to Macau. It was a fast paced day up and down the winding and crowded streets. We hit the casinos, Macau's main attraction, and fulfilled a small James Bond fantasy. The food was delectable and the egg custards were our favorite treat. From Macau we took a turbojet ferry to Hong Kong. For the Wu Tang it was the first time stopping in Hong Kong. We hopped on the metro and toured the first Taoist temple. It was a pleasure roaming the city together as a Wu Tang Family. We all trav- eled by ferry to a beautiful island of buns...and there was a taoist temple too. It was a full scenic Hong Kong experience. Jonathan, being awesome, invited us to enjoy the Hong Kong local nightlife scene. We even got to climb the longest staircase ever. Hong Kong was most diverting and an awesome city to end our tour of China.
Our trip comes to an end and we had the time of our lives. We thank everyone for their attentiveness, and their amazingly kind generosity; Kate and Tom for including us on their journey, Steve’s sweet nature and the wonderful Jon’s. We couldn’t of enjoyed it any more without them. We are so grateful to Frank and Tina, and we thank them for taking care of us and putting this incredible trip together. We will treasure all the memories we made on our first and hopefully not last China trip.
